DRIVE (2011)

The film 'DRIVE', featuring Ryan Gosling, directed by Nicolas Winding, is another inspiration to some of the films I create. The cinematography in Drive is beautiful, sharp and captures every essence of a scene.

One scene that sticks in my head, is the Motel scene; it's such a brilliant scene, shot beautifully and I get excited thinking about it!

The slow-motion is perfect as it leaves in the audience in awe, and shock. As are the slow pans used and the technique to not jump-cut cut around like most action scenes. It's such a poignant and visually stunning scene. When being a cinematographer, I try to find shots that leave an impact on the audience, like this scene did me.
